Carbon Market
We are going to create a market instrument for lower CO2 emissions. Emissions trading is the trade in emission rights: the right to emit greenhouse gases. With 1 emission allowance, a company can emit 1 ton of carbon dioxide (CO2). The number of available rights is limited and will also decrease every year because you want less CO2 emissions in 2050. The price for an emission allowance, the CO2 price, is determined by supply and demand. This makes emissions trading a market instrument to combat climate change.
Emissions trading gives companies a choice: pay for rights to emit CO2 or invest that money in cleaner production methods so that CO2 emissions are - permanently - reduced. Fewer emission allowances become available every year. Companies can therefore emit less and less CO2 together. This makes investing in sustainability more and more attractive. This makes emissions trading an important method for achieving international climate targets and agreements. For every barrel of CO2 they emit, companies have to surrender an emission allowance. There are several ways to get those rights. They can buy allowances on auctions and trading platforms or from other companies. Under certain circumstances, they get free rights from the government.

CO2 Monitoring
With CO2 monitoring, we look at your company's emissions. Nowadays it is becoming increasingly important for companies to gain insight into their emissions. Not only to take responsibility for climate change, but also to meet external requirements and standards. By applying CO2 monitoring to your company, you gain insight into where your emissions come from. This is the first step in any reduction in emissions from business activities.
We measure your emissions using a toolkit. You enter your emissions into this toolkit, for example using your gas and/or energy bill. The toolkit then calculates exactly how many tons of CO2 are emitted. Based on this information, we can advise you where reductions are possible.
Our CO2 monitoring service consists of two parts. It starts with gaining insight into your emissions. This can then lead to advice on possible reductions.
